“La Calidez de Centroamérica” is the official artwork created by CAVFF 2026 Spotlight Artist Kiara Aileen Machadofor the inaugural Central American Voices Film Festival.
Inspired by the beauty, warmth, and nostalgia of Central America, the piece reflects the feeling of returning home and the memories of home that remain with us wherever we go.
Kiara draws inspiration from the comforting sound of heavy rain against a tin roof, allowing the rain at the top of the artwork to slowly dissolve into the composition. Elements of nature surround the piece, leading toward its center, where a bus travels into the sunset a symbol of where we have been and where we are going.
