CENTRAL AMERICA HURRICANE RELIEF FUNDS
On November 3rd, Hurricane Eta a category 4 Hurricane, enter Nicaraguan territory. Within days the entire region of Central America became an under water region with many landslides that took communities and families from our people. 2 weeks later Hurricane Iota entered through the same path as Hurricane Eta making it the stronger hurricane to ever hit Nicaragua.

GUATEMALA

Description: Tropical Storm Eta is currently causing devastation in Guatemala. The communities of Cotzal are in current need of funds to deal with the aftermath of this storm, as it is causing damages to houses, crops, and health.

The Honduran population has been greatly affected by the devastating effects of Hurricane Eta, and will continue to see its repercussions. Hurricane Eta is the second largest hurricane since Hurricane Mitch in 1998, which had vast effects in the country some of which the country still hasn’t been able to fully recover from.

Description: The Non-Profit Foundation Creando Sonrisas and the citizens of Agua Blanca Sur, El Balsamo, Santa Rita have come together to rescue families who were trapped in their homes and who lost everything. The families were immediately transferred to nearby shelters in the Agua Blanca Sur, El Balsamo and Santa Rita, Yoro area.

Description: After an extremely difficult and painful year around the world, Honduras and other countries in Central America have just been hit by Hurricane Eta. The Ruth Paz Foundation is a a non-profit organization in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, devoted to providing medical services to low-income patients.

Description: Your solidarity has materialized into support for Afro-indigenous grassroots groups like the Black Fraternal Organization of Honduras (OFRANEH), small farmer groups with a national and regional presence like the National Farm Workers’s Federation (CNTC), coffee cooperatives, regional popular organizations like the Coordinator of Popular Organizations of the Aguan (COPA), support for youth groups like Paso a Paso, and the Movimiento Amplio por la Dignidad y la Justicia (MADJ), amongst others. All of these groups work directly with communities that were flooded, forced to flee, and are directly responding to the humanitarian crises generated by the hurricanes.

Description: On November 3rd 4th and 5th, Hurricane Eta devastated the rural farming communities near Santa Clara in Panama (about 5,000 people and many with young children) leaving many of them without a place to go, water to drink (the pipe that serves the area was damaged by tons of sliding earth), and possibly food shortages soon due to all the supply roads being gone or impassable.
